FAQ

Q: Are Terracotta meditations therapy?
A: No. Our meditations are created for reflection and education. If you’re experiencing a crisis, we invite you to visit our Global Crisis Support Annex for immediate support.
Q: Why are the meditations free?
A: Because healing belongs to everyone. Terracotta begins as a gift — each month we offer meditations freely on YouTube so anyone can enter. In time, we may add bundles, courses, or other projects for those who want to journey further, but the open door will always remain.
Q: How often is new content released?
A: Two meditations each month, with newsletters and podcasts joining the rhythm as Terracotta grows.
Q: Why “Terracotta”?
A: Terracotta is made of humble earth. It carries the beauty of what is fragile, resilient, and — often — restored. For more information, see our Mission statement.
Q: Why kintsugi?
A: Because a crack is not the end of your story. Kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold — teaches us that cracks can be honored. Repair does not erase the fracture; it illuminates it. At Terracotta, we hold the same truth for human beings: healing is not about returning to an untouched state, but about becoming whole in a new way, with dignity and beauty shining through the places we once thought were ruined.
Q: Why isn’t there an “Archetypes Quiz”?
A: Terracotta’s archetypes are invitations, not boxes. We’ve designed them to be symbolic mirrors, not diagnostic labels. A static quiz result can imply permanence in what is actually fluid, layered, and transitional. Many people will find that multiple archetypes resonate at once or shift over time. The meditations themselves are written to speak across archetypes, roles, and identities — not lock you into one.
Q: What’s the point of the archetypes, then — and how do I use them?
A: Terracotta invites exploration through metaphor, story, and somatic presence — a poetic, integrative, non-pathologizing lens. Each archetype is paired with flora and fauna that carry symbolic resonance, more like Aesop’s fables than Myers-Briggs types. They are meant for gentle self-reflection, not diagnosis.

We encourage you to explore them with journaling prompts such as:
  • What resonates here?
  • What challenges am I moving through?
  • What patterns feel familiar — or unhelpful?
  • What do the plants and animals symbolize?
  • How does their resilience inspire my own healing journey?
Q: In your mission statement, you write that Terracotta seeks to “bridge the mystical and the material.” What does that mean?
A: In this context, “mystical” does not mean supernatural. It points to a felt sense of awe, wonder, or connection; to deep inner experiences like grief, reverence, or intuition; to the numinous quality of healing — those moments when something shifts, not just in the mind, but in the soul.

By “material,” we mean the grounded and the real: practices rooted in neuroscience, somatic therapy, and trauma literacy; tools that acknowledge the body, the nervous system, and our civic responsibilities; language that respects emotional nuance and lived experience.

In practice, Terracotta does not only ask you to “trust the universe” — it helps you feel safe in your body. We do not merely say “heal” — we show how healing works, step by step.

So when we say we “bridge the mystical and the material,” we mean this: we take the soulful parts of healing — awe, connection, meaning — and translate them into practices grounded in science, story, and the body.
Q: Where can I find your full library of educational content?
A: You can find links to all of our meditations, newsletters, and podcasts on the Media Library page. Everything is collected in one place so you can explore at your own pace.
Q: How do I subscribe to the newsletter?
A: You can subscribe through the sign-up form on our website. Each month we share reflections, resources, and links to the newest meditations. The newsletter is free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
